Kaena Horowitz is a partner in the firm's litigation department. He enjoys the challenge of representing business owners, construction companies, and individuals in commercial litigation, contract and real estate disputes, and in personal injury / premises liability defense.
A resident of the Big Island, Kaena previously represented the County of Hawaii as a Deputy Corporation Counsel (Litigation / Appeals) — including arguing before the Hawaii Supreme Court and twice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit — and, more recently, as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney.
Kaena also gained valuable experience with several boutique litigation firms on Oahu and in Kailua-Kona in real estate, construction, and complex commercial litigation.
He currently volunteers with National History Day and is the former Head of Program for Kamehameha Schools Hawaii Swimming and Water Polo.
