M4 associate Jordan Inafuku was invited by the Hawaii Chapter of the Federal Bar Association, in partnership with the United States District Court for the District of Hawaii, to participate in the annual Hawaii Federal Trial Academy (“HFTA”) on January 9-11, 2019. The HFTA is a comprehensive, three-day program designed to help newer attorneys develop trial skills and experience in federal court. Twelve selected participants attend a series of lectures, panel discussions, and live presentations by the federal judiciary and by some of the most experienced and dynamic trial lawyers in this district, including by William C. McCorriston who led a session on cross-examination of witnesses. The program opens with a presentation by Chief Judge J. Michael Seabright and culminates in a half-day mock trial in federal court before a federal judge. Partner Jesse Smith participated in the inaugural year of the HFTA in 2016.
